DriverCheck’s designated laboratory expands

EDMONTON, ALBERTA, October 25, 2012 – A new testing facility planned for Edmonton, Alberta in the fall of 2012 has the potential to improve turnaround times on lab-based tests for DriverCheck clients in the region.

Gamma-Dynacare Medical Laboratories says the facility will provide toxicology screening services to the oil and gas sector and other industries in Western Canada. However, the new laboratory does not currently offer confirmation testing services. Confirmation tests will continue to be sent to DriverCheck’s designated laboratory in London, Ontario.

This news comes a few months after Gamma-Dynacare announced it had acquired the alcohol and drug testing business of Maxxam Analytics, a provider of analytical drug testing services.

Officials at Gamma-Dynacare say the acquisition of Maxxam will expand their toxicology business and establish their organization as the leader in the provision of laboratory analysis in Canada.

Gamma-Dynacare is DriverCheck’s designated laboratory, and is primarily based in London, Ontario. Maxxam is based in Mississauga, Ontario.
