Time To Upgrade Your 3M™ Scott™ AV-2000 Facepiece

Dear Valued Client,

This communication is to notify you that 3M™ is no longer manufacturing the 3M™ Scott™AV-2000 Facepiece as of March 31, 2022. We are writing to inform you that, due to this change, it is recommended you convert to new respirators by March 31, 2024.

Why Is This Change Happening?

The 3M™ Scott™ AV-2000 Facepiece has been in production since 1992, since then newer innovations have been made available that offer improved fit, comfort, and intelligibility. That is why 3M™ Scott™ Safety has discontinued production of the 3M™ Scott™ AV-2000 Facepiece and suggests converting to a newer facepiece by March 31, 2024.

What This Change Means For You

As of March 31, 2024, parts will not be available for the 3M™ Scott™ AV-2000 Facepiece. To prepare for this change, 3M™ Scott™ recommends use of the 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 with SureSeal Facepiece. It is National Institute of Occupational Health (NIOSH) approved with 3M™ Scott™ respirators, including:

  • 3M™ Scott™ APR (Scott™ 742 cartridges and 3M™ filters and cartridges through the 3M™ Scott™ AV-632 bayonet adapter)

  • Supplied air (SCBA)

In addition, the 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 with SureSeal Facepiece is available with Kevlar, polyester, or rubber head harness.

If you are currently using the 3M™ Scott™ AV-2000 Facepiece:

  • We ask that you contact DriverCheck to advise us if you would like to change to the recommended 3M™ Scott™ AV-3000 with SureSeal Facepiece or a different respirator.

  • In the event you decide to wait until March 31, 2024, to switch to a newer facepiece, workers should be advised to bring in their own 3M™ Scott™AV-2000 Facepiece respirator for fit testing as there is a limited supply of this facepiece available within DriverCheck’s testing network. DriverCheck cannot source additional inventory of the 3M™ Scott™AV-2000 Facepiece as it is no longer being manufactured.

Please contact our Client Support Group at (800) 463-4310 option 4 or by email at ClientSupport@DriverCheck.ca to inform us if you would like to change to the recommended facepiece or if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

DriverCheck Team
