DriverCheck Marks 30 Years Supporting Healthier and Safer Workplaces Across Canada

DriverCheck's 30th Anniversary

February 24, 2026 (Ayr, ON) – DriverCheck Inc., Canada’s Fitness for Duty experts and the leading provider of workplace medical testing and occupational health services, is marking its 30th anniversary this year, highlighting three decades of supporting safety-sensitive industries across Canada.

Founded in 1996 by husband-and-wife duo, emergency physician Dr. Chris Page and wife, Dr. Mary-Jean Page, as well as daughter Maggie (Page) Dunnett, DriverCheck was created in response to emerging United States Department of Transportation (DOT) cross-border drug and alcohol regulations affecting Canadian commercial transportation. Established on a physician-led model, the organization was built on the principle that medical integrity and sound clinical judgement must guide workplace fitness for duty decisions, an approach that continues to define DriverCheck today.

From its beginnings as a small physician-run operation in Ayr, Ontario, conducting drug and alcohol testing for Canadian trucking companies, DriverCheck has grown into a national provider of fitness for duty services supporting a wide range of employers across Canada in safety-sensitive industries. Today, the organization delivers a diverse array of drug and alcohol testing and occupational health services designed to support workers throughout the employee life cycle while helping employers meet regulatory requirements, manage risk, and promote worker health.

“For three decades, DriverCheck has remained grounded in the belief that good medicine must come first. Our focus has always been on helping clients with trusted medical expertise, reliable service, and occupational health programs that protect workers and the communities they serve. As workplaces continue to evolve, we remain committed to innovating our services that help build a healthier and safer world,” said Maggie Dunnett, President of DriverCheck.

DriverCheck’s purpose is to help build a healthier and safer world by providing fitness for duty services that support workers and empower organizations to maintain safe and productive workplaces. Through its national service delivery model and physician-led foundation, the organization continues to play an important role in supporting workplace safety and worker health across Canada.

DriverCheck will recognize this anniversary throughout the year by acknowledging the employees, clients, and partners who have contributed to the organization’s success over the past 30 years.
