DriverCheck Award for Canada’s Safest Public Transportation Employer

It’s that time of year again where we spotlight the champions of safety across Canada! We’re thrilled to announce that, for the third year in a row, we’re partnering with Canadian Occupational Safety to present the DriverCheck Award for Canada’s Safest Public Transportation Employer at the 16th Annual Canada’s Safest Employers Awards on October 22, 2026! 

Public transportation plays a vital role across Canada. For 30 years, DriverCheck has partnered with safety-sensitive employers to support fitness-for-duty programs and create a healthier and safer world. Sponsoring this award is a natural extension of that commitment. It’s about celebrating the transit leaders who set the bar higher each year.

And there’s strong company at the top.

In 2025, Jazz Aviation earned the title for its outstanding safety performance and commitment to employee well-being. In 2024, Metrolinx was recognized for its proactive approach to protecting workers and passengers across its operations. Each winner has demonstrated what it means to make safety more than a policy, it’s a mindset.

Nominations for 2026 are officially open from February 23 to May 8. If your organization is raising the standard in public transportation safety, now is the time to share your story.
