December 1, 2023 (Ayr, ON) – DriverCheck, Canada’s Fitness for Duty expert and the leading provider of workplace medical testing and assessments, is excited to announce the opening of its newly expanded Kitchener clinic. The expansion includes an additional 1,500 square feet, larger exam rooms and new equipment to accommodate the introduction of physical abilities testing (PAT). This expansion will complement the clinic’s existing occupational health and fitness for duty services including drug and alcohol testing, respirator fit testing, audiometric testing, spirometry testing, and fingerprinting.

“We are thrilled to be expanding the size of our Kitchener clinic and introducing physical abilities testing to service the occupational health and fitness for duty needs of employers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area,” said Dr. Jonathan Davids, Corporate Medical Director at DriverCheck. “DriverCheck has more than twenty-five years of experience in the fitness for duty industry and we are excited to be doing more to support the health of workers and workplace safety in the region. At DriverCheck, we are experiencing an increased demand from employers seeking overall health and wellness assessments of their employees and we are excited to help meet those needs with our expansion. Our clinic is now equipped to meet the needs of most employers’ pre-employment, periodic physical demands and medical examination testing requirements as well as post-incident and reasonable cause drug and alcohol testing needs.”

DriverCheck’s Kitchener clinic, part of the 1,200 DriverCheck clinic network across Canada, first opened its doors in 2010 with one staff member and one service - drug and alcohol testing primarily to service the needs of trucking companies. Fingerprinting services were introduced later that year to assist with employment, immigration, and US-border entry requirements. In 2014, the clinic experienced its first expansion when new examining rooms were added, the clinic team in Kitchener grew to 5 and new services including respiratory fit testing, and medical assessments, including Ministry of Transportation medicals, audiometric testing, and spirometry testing were added. Today, the DriverCheck Kitchener clinic provides services to thousands of employers and employees in the area and conducts more than ten thousand tests annually.

DriverCheck’s Kitchener Clinic is located at 31 McBrine Drive, Unit 8, Kitchener, Ontario N2R 1J1, is open Monday to Friday 8:30 am – 5 pm (EST) and can be contacted by calling (800) 463-4310.
